Our Proven Process

Designed to support B2B and B2C companies regardless of size or industry

1. Discovery Meeting:

We’ll get to know you and your business and take time to understand your overall objectives, so you can see what you can expect from the yorCMO model.

2. Kick-Off Call

If we are the right fit, we will schedule a kick-off meeting to outline your marketing objectives over the next 2 years to use as the baseline for your Wildly Important Goal (WIG), and determine your quick wins for the first 60 days.

3. Marketing Audit:

yorCMO will conduct a marketing survey to establish a baseline of where your company is today. From there, we’ll give you a detailed analysis of your marketing strategy and execution, as well as a list of recommendations.

4. Foundation Sessions:

Foundation sessions include a Marketing Strategy Session and an Action Session to set goals, and priorities, and develop a campaign plan with budgets. Afterward, we’ll provide you with a full report and strategy document that outlines the first quarter Foundational Plan.

5. Quarterly Sprints:

yorCMO will manage your team, your vendors, and our team to execute your quarterly priorities all with the overarching 2-year marketing goal in mind. Each quarter, we facilitate weekly check-ins, execution and accountability, and new action sessions for the following quarter, so that we may continue our sprint process.

What are yorCMO’s Six Fundamentals of Marketing?

yorCMO’s Six Fundamentals are the foundational building blocks every client engagement starts with: (1) Goals — defining where your business is going, (2) Customer — understanding your buyer deeply, (3) Positioning — clarifying your offer and differentiation, (4) Sales-Marketing Alignment — ensuring both teams work from the same playbook, (5) Planning Cadence — establishing a rhythm of accountability and planning, and (6) Campaigns — structuring processes that turn strategy into creative execution. This framework ensures no critical marketing element is overlooked.

What happens during the first 90 days with a fractional CMO?

The first 90 days follow a structured cadence. It begins with a discovery meeting to understand the business, followed by a kick-off call to set expectations and timeline. Next comes a comprehensive marketing audit that evaluates current positioning, messaging, channels, and performance. The CMO then facilitates foundation sessions using the Six Fundamentals framework to build the strategic base. Finally, the first quarterly sprint plan is created and execution begins. This 90-day onboarding produces a complete marketing strategy and an active execution plan.

How are quarterly sprints structured at yorCMO?

After the initial 90-day onboarding, yorCMO’s fractional CMOs operate in quarterly sprints. Each sprint begins with a review of the previous quarter’s results, followed by goal-setting for the next 90 days. The CMO builds a prioritized marketing plan with specific campaigns, tactics, and measurable targets. Weekly check-ins maintain accountability, and a mid-quarter review ensures the plan is on track. This cadence creates a predictable rhythm of planning, execution, and optimization.
